Program Dates: February 2, 2026 – March 31, 2026
Schedule: Thursdays, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Grade Levels: 1st – 6th Grade
Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Cooking Instructor to lead a fun, hands-on after-school cooking program for elementary school students. The instructor will introduce basic cooking skills, kitchen safety, nutrition awareness, and simple recipes in an engaging and age-appropriate way.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children and has a passion for cooking and teaching life skills in a positive, structured environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead weekly 2-hour cooking classes for students in grades 1–6
- Teach basic cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen etiquette
- Prepare lesson plans and age-appropriate recipes
- Supervise students and maintain a safe, clean learning environment
- Manage classroom behavior and encourage teamwork and creativity
- Communicate professionally with school staff and program coordinators
- Clean and organize materials and workspace after each session
Qualifications
- Experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, camps, after-school programs, etc.)
- Basic cooking or culinary knowledge
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to pass a background check (if required by the school)
- Teaching or culinary certification is a plus, but not required
